One item cannot be checked out below your minimum order

This finding means your store does not allow checkout below a minimum order value, and an AI agent buying a single item stopped at it. The agent added one item, opened the cart and found checkout closed until the basket reaches your minimum. It does not add more to get past it, because an agent buys what its shopper asked for. This is not a stall: checkout is left unscored on that scan rather than marked as passed or failed.

Why the agent stops

A minimum order is a business rule, often there because delivery or packing costs more than a small order makes. A shopper who reaches the cart reads the message, adds a second item and carries on.

An agent shopping for someone has been asked for a particular product, often just one. When the cart refuses checkout, the agent has to go back to its shopper and ask whether to spend more. If the minimum was nowhere it could read before it started, that question comes late, at the cart, and many shoppers will not wait for it.

How often we see this

Not stated here. A frequency means nothing without the cohort it was counted over, and this page is about one stall rather than one category. Where a category has enough stores measured at every stage, the share of them showing this stall is published on its benchmark page, with the methodology beside it.

See it for yourself

  1. Open your store in a private window and add one low priced item to the cart.
  2. Open the cart and try to check out.
  3. If checkout stays closed and the cart asks you to spend more, this is the finding. Then look for the minimum on a product page and in your delivery policy, where an agent reads before it shops.

What to change

What Ottom looks at

The journey agent adds one item and opens the cart. When the checkout button is disabled, or pressing it goes nowhere, it reads what the cart says. This is raised when the cart names a minimum order, spend or basket value with an amount, and the amount is kept with the finding when the cart gives it. A threshold for free delivery or a discount is not a minimum and is never read as one. The agent never adds more items to get past it.

Questions

Does a minimum order lower my score?

No. Checkout is left unscored on that scan, so your score is measured across the stages the scan could check, and benchmarks do not count it as a stall. It is rated medium because an agent buying one item stops there.

Why does the agent not just add another item?

Because it buys what its shopper asked for and spends no more than it was told to. Adding something nobody asked for to reach your minimum would be spending a shopper’s money on their behalf without asking.
