Nothing to ask them for
The scan reads the public storefront. No app install, no theme access, no account on their side. You arrive with the finding rather than with a request.
For agencies
Ottom for agencies is a way to run real AI shopping agents against a client or prospect storefront and get back a verdict you can show them. The agent attempts the four stages a shopper’s assistant would take, discover, evaluate, compare and buy, and the report names the stage that stopped it. You do not need to own the store, install anything on it, or ask anyone for access.
Scan a storeSee what the channel pays
One free scan per store, per email address, every 30 days. Our agents identify themselves and stop at the payment step: see how.
A readiness score out of 100, a verdict on each of the four stages, and a count of what the agent hit, by severity. That is the free scan, and it is enough to open a conversation: their storefront, scored, with the stage that stopped an agent named.
The scan reads the public storefront. No app install, no theme access, no account on their side. You arrive with the finding rather than with a request.
The products the agent tries are chosen from the store’s own catalogue and ranked by how many ways they can go wrong for an agent: variant grids, multiple option axes, partial stock, missing identifiers.
Behind the free score sit the findings, the page the agent was looking at when it gave up, and a fix written to forward to a developer. Those open with the report or a subscription. See pricing.
If you need to put a number on it in a deck, the ROI calculator turns a stage score into revenue at risk, and labels every assumption it makes as an assumption.

Every store you have standing on is listed together, each with its verdict, its open finding count and the date of its last scan. Standing comes from owning the store, buying its report, being granted access, or belonging to an organisation that manages it. Each store then has its own report, score history and run log.

Create a workspace, add the people at your agency who look after the book, and add your client stores. The workspace rolls them all up on one page: worst score first, open findings, last scan, and which stores are subscribed. Start one from your client area.

Adding a client store sends a one time approval link to an address on that store’s own domain. The store joins your workspace when they follow it, and not a moment earlier. You cannot approve your own request, which is what stops a workspace becoming a way to read somebody else’s paid report. Roles, invitations and each way a client can approve are in the workspaces docs.
Not coming. Each store in a workspace is subscribed on its own, by whoever pays for it, and there is no wholesale rate: our list price is the same whoever is paying. What you can do is pay for your clients’ stores yourself and charge them what you like, which is the same margin by a shorter route. Verification by Shopify collaborator access, adding stores in bulk, and client facing portals are unbuilt.

The referral program is live. You earn 20% of what a store you referred actually pays Ottom before tax, for 3 years from their first payment. Every commission, reversal and payout is a line on a ledger you can read, and the ledger cannot be edited.
| Rate | 20% of what a referred client pays before tax, for 3 years |
|---|---|
| Term starts | That client’s first payment that settles |
| Attribution | First partner link clicked, for 90 days |
| Who counts | A client who signs up and pays for themselves |
| Who does not | A store you pay for out of your own workspace |
| Qualifies | Subscription payments through Stripe that settle |
| Does not qualify | The $9 one-off report |
| Refunds | Reversed pro rata, at the rate the original entry carried |
| Ledger | Append-only. A correction is a new line, never an edit |
| Payouts | Quarterly, by bank transfer or Wise, once your balance reaches $100 |

Partners see their referrals, what each client was invoiced, their balance and their ledger at /partners. Any workspace can enrol from there, and it is live straight away. The full rules are in the Partner Terms.
If you would rather own the relationship, add your client stores to your workspace and pay for them yourself. Each store is its own subscription on your card, and you charge your client whatever you charge. There is no wholesale rate and no reseller application: the price is the same whoever is paying it, and your margin is the difference. Those stores earn no commission, because on them you are the customer rather than the referrer.
Yes. The scan runs against the public storefront and needs nothing from the merchant: no install, no access, no permission to grant. One free scan per store, per email address, every 30 days. We cap how often any one storefront is scanned in a day, counted across everyone who asks rather than per person. The default is 12 retrieval checks and 3 full agent journeys, and only a contract with that merchant raises it.
No. Our agents carry a published user agent, leave from static addresses, visit at low volume and stop at the payment step. No card details are entered and no order is placed. Any merchant who would rather not be visited can opt out, and the opt-out sits on our agent disclosure page.
Yes. Create a workspace, add your client stores to it, and the workspace rolls them up: worst score first, each with its verdict, its open findings, the date of its last scan, and whether it is subscribed. One bill for the whole book is a separate thing and is not built. Each store is still subscribed on its own, by whoever pays for it.
Your client does. Adding a storefront sends a one time approval link to an address on that store’s own domain, and the store joins your workspace only when somebody there follows it. Until then you have a pending request and no access at all: their findings, evidence and history stay locked to you exactly as they would to a stranger. You cannot nominate your own address as the approver, and a shared platform domain such as myshopify.com is refused, because a mailbox there says nothing about who runs the shop. Two other ways to prove it: publish a TXT record we give you on their domain, or, if the store has our Shopify app installed, use the contact address Shopify holds for it.
Whatever that store is already entitled to, and nothing more. Being in a workspace is not a plan. A client on the free tier shows you the free score and nothing behind it; a client who pays for Monitor shows you what Monitor opens. Somebody you remove from the workspace loses all of it the same minute.
20% of what that client actually pays Ottom before tax, for 3 years from their first payment that settles. Commission accrues on subscription payments that settle. It does not accrue on the $9 one-off report, and it does not accrue on a store you pay for yourself, because there you are the customer. A refund or a lost chargeback writes a reversal at the rate the original entry carried, in the same proportion as the payment it takes back.
The first partner link a visitor clicks wins, for 90 days, and only for an account that link created. A later link never displaces the first. Somebody who already had an Ottom account before clicking your link is not a referral. Every click is logged either way, so a question about attribution has an answer months later.
Yes, today, and there is nothing to sign up for. Add your client stores to your workspace, pay our list price for each one, and charge your client whatever you charge. You hold the account, you get the bill, and the margin is yours. There is no wholesale rate and there will not be one: our price is the same whoever is paying it. Those stores earn no referral commission, because on them you are the customer.
Whoever pays decides it, and one store is only ever one or the other. If your client created their own Ottom account through your link and pays us directly, that is a referral and you earn on it. If you added their store to your workspace and pay for it yourself, that is reselling and you earn your own margin instead. Nothing has to be declared: we record which account paid for each subscription, and the commission follows that.
Create a workspace, then join from the partner page. It is live straight away, with no application and no waiting: an owner or an admin of the workspace accepts the terms, and you get a link the same minute. Nobody earns anything until a client they referred signs up and pays, so there is nothing to gate.
What a client pays, and what each plan opens. Identical pricing on both rails.
