What an agent readiness report looks like

This is a full report, with nothing locked. It is what a merchant gets after a scan: the score, where the agent stopped, every finding with the change that fixes it, and the buy attempt step by step. Switch to the free view below to see what a free scan shows before you unlock it.

This store does not exist. The findings below are real failure modes from our stall library, arranged on a shop we made up so we could show you the format without publishing somebody else’s results. No number on this page is a measurement of anything.

Everything unlocked, as a merchant sees it after buying the report.

What a shopper’s request got

We asked for things your own catalogue says you sell, using only what an AI agent can read without running your storefront. Budgets are in your store’s own currency, as your pages state it.

Sizes can only be chosen by hovering

The size control on the product page reveals its options on mouse hover and exposes no form field an agent can set. A person moves a mouse over it without thinking. An agent has no mouse, finds no selectable value, and cannot add the item to a basket.

What the agent saw. Forward this to your developer.

Fix: Render the size options as a real form control, a select or a group of radio inputs, so the value can be set without a pointer. Keep the hover behaviour if you want it; the point is that it stops being the only way.

A newsletter popup covers the basket

A modal appears eight seconds after the first page load and overlays the page until it is dismissed. The agent reached the basket underneath it and could not act on anything the modal covered.

popup_blocks_flow ✗Screenshot of the store showing: A newsletter popup covers the basket
What the agent saw. Forward this to your developer.

Fix: Delay the popup until a scroll or an exit intent rather than a timer, or suppress it on the basket and checkout paths. Either keeps it for shoppers and stops it ending a purchase.

Stock is shown as a colour, not as text

The product page signals availability with a green dot and no words. There is no availability field in the structured data either, so nothing on the page states in a readable form whether the item can be bought.

Fix: State availability in text next to the dot, and set `availability` in the product markup. The dot can stay: it is the only signal that is the problem.

Delivery cost only appears at checkout

Nothing on the product page or in the policies states a delivery cost or a threshold, so an agent comparing this store against another has no number to compare on and tends to leave it out rather than guess.

Fix: Publish delivery costs and any free-delivery threshold on a page of their own, in text, and link it from the product page.

Low · Discover stage

No llms.txt

The store publishes no llms.txt, so an assistant describing it works from whichever page it crawled first rather than from a description the merchant wrote.

Fix: Publish an llms.txt at the root of the site naming what you sell and your key pages.

The returns policy is a picture

The returns page is a single image of a designed document. A person reads it without noticing. An agent asked for something with free returns gets no text to read, so it cannot confirm the policy and will not assert it to the shopper.

Fix: Put the policy on the page as text. Keep the designed version as a download beside it if it matters to you, but the terms themselves have to be readable without the picture.

Products carry no GTIN

No product exposes a GTIN, EAN or MPN. Nothing here fails on its own, but it is what an assistant matches your item against the same item elsewhere with, so this shop is harder to recognise as carrying a product somebody already named.

Fix: Publish the barcode you already hold in the product data as a gtin field in your product markup and in your feed.

Categories exist in the menu and nowhere else

The navigation is built in the theme rather than from a category structure the pages declare, so an agent narrowing to "40 litre duffels" has nothing to narrow with and has to read every product page to find out what is in the range.

Fix: Expose the categories as real collection pages with breadcrumb markup, so the structure you already sell by is visible outside the menu.

Take it with you

The same report as a PDF: the score, the stages, every finding and the fix for each one. Or copy the findings as text, ready to paste into a ticket. On your own report you can also email your developer a link.

How to read it

A report has four parts and they answer different questions. Taken in order they go from how bad is it, to where exactly, to what do I change, to who do I send this to. The same walkthrough is in help as reading your report.

The score, and what it is not

The score covers all four stages. A scan that did not reach checkout uses the last buy attempt from the week before and says when it was, and with none in that week there is no score, so the buy stage is never quietly scored as passing. It is a way to see movement between scans, not a grade. Two shops on the same number can have completely different problems, which is why nothing on this page asks you to act on it by itself.

The four stages

This is the useful part. The shop above reads well and cannot be bought from, which is the common case: discover and evaluate pass, and the walk stops at the size control. A shop that fails at discover has a different problem entirely, because nothing later in the list ever gets a chance to run.

What a finding contains

Each one names the stage it belongs to, how serious it is, what the agent saw, and the change that resolves it. The severity is not our opinion of your shop: it comes from the stall library, the same published list every scan is scored against, so the word means the same thing on every report we produce. That is also why a Critical needs two agreeing signals before we will print it, and why a report sometimes leaves a finding out.

Findings without a screenshot are not weaker. Some come from what the pages say rather than from what a browser showed: no llms.txt and no GTIN are read out of the data, and there is nothing to photograph.

The buy attempt, step by step

The walk is the part merchants forward. It lists what the agent did, what it found, how long each step took, and the screen it was looking at when it stopped. A developer reading it does not have to believe the score. They can open the same page and see the same thing.

What to do with it

Send it to whoever changes your theme. Most fixes here are small and none of them are about redesigning anything: a size control that is a real form field, a policy written as text, a popup that does not cover the basket. The report is written to be forwarded without translation.

A real scan works the same way and stops at the same place: before payment, with no order placed. What a scan does, and what it does not do sets out the whole boundary, and what we store and for how long covers the evidence a report keeps.
