Nothing the scan picked could be bought
This finding means every product the scan picked from your catalogue was sold out or not yet on sale, so the AI agent had nothing it could put in a cart and the buy attempt could not test your checkout. It is not a fault in your store and it is not a stall: checkout is left unscored on that scan rather than marked as passed or failed.
Why the agent stops
A scan picks a few products from your catalogue to try to buy, starting with the ones most likely to show a problem. It leaves out products your product data says nobody can buy today, then checks each product page it opens. A page with every option sold out, or a drop that is not on sale yet, is passed over for the next pick.
When every pick turns out to be unbuyable, there is no honest result to give for checkout. Calling it passed would claim a purchase nobody made, and calling it stalled would blame your store for stock, so the scan says what happened instead.
How often we see this
Not stated here. A frequency means nothing without the cohort it was counted over, and this page is about one stall rather than one category. Where a category has enough stores measured at every stage, the share of them showing this stall is published on its benchmark page, with the methodology beside it.
See it for yourself
- Open the products named in the scan’s buy attempt and check whether any option can be added to a cart.
- Compare with your product feed or products.json: a product listed as in stock there and sold out on the page is one the scan will keep picking.
- Check whether the products were drops or pre-orders with a date still to come when the scan ran.
What to change
- Nothing to fix in the store itself. The next scan picks again and tests buying when a product can be bought.
- If products that are on sale are missing from your product feed, or marked out of stock there, correct the feed’s stock values so the scan can pick them.
What Ottom looks at
The journey agent opens each product the scan picked and reads the page: whether any option can be added, the product’s own variant data and its structured data. This is raised only when every pick was sold out or not yet on sale. Pages that did not open, or bot protection, are reported as what they are instead.
Questions
Does nothing to buy lower my score?
No. It costs no points and checkout is left unscored on that scan, so your score is measured across the stages the scan could check. It never stamps PASS or STALLED on its own, and benchmarks do not count it as a stall.
Why did the scan pick products that were sold out?
The pick leaves out what your product data says cannot be bought, so a sold out product is picked when the data still lists it as in stock or the product sold out after the data was read. Keeping stock values in your feed current is what keeps the picks buyable.
