Plans, cadence, and what actually changes
Plans differ mainly in cadence: how often a full agent journey runs against your store and how quickly a regression is caught. Some tiers also unlock additional surfaces, but the ladder never takes a surface away as the price rises, and a tier that alerts you to a finding always lets you read it.
The main thing a plan buys is cadence: how often a full agent journey runs against your store, and therefore how quickly something that broke gets noticed.
Cadence is not access
It is worth separating two things that look similar on a pricing page. Cadence is how often the work happens. Access is which parts of a report you can read. Some tiers change one, some change both.
A tier that alerts you to a finding always lets you read that finding. Alerting somebody to a problem and then charging them to see what it is would be a worse product than not alerting them.
The ladder never inverts
A higher price never grants fewer surfaces than a lower one. Two adjacent tiers granting an identical set is allowed and happens deliberately where the difference between them is cadence rather than access.
Why the numbers are not written here
Prices and cadences are derived on the plans reference and the pricing page from the same constants that schedule the runs and resolve the entitlements. Restating them in a support article creates a second version that goes stale quietly, which has already happened once in this product and is not worth repeating.
Changing plan
A change takes effect on the schedule at the next tick rather than requiring anything to be re-subscribed. See billing, invoices and cancelling.
Questions
Is a more expensive plan a better scan?
It is usually a more frequent one. The agent does the same job; the difference is how often it does it and therefore how quickly a change is noticed.
Can a higher plan have fewer features than a lower one?
No. The ladder is asserted never to invert, so more money never buys fewer surfaces. Two adjacent tiers can grant the same surfaces and differ only in cadence.
Where are the current prices and cadences?
On [the plans reference](/docs/plans) and on the pricing page. Both derive every figure from the same constants the scheduler and the entitlements resolver use, which is what makes them correct by construction.
