Agentic storefront

An agentic storefront is the surface a commerce platform exposes so AI channels can read a store’s catalogue and transact against it, without a shopper loading the storefront a person would see.

It is a channel rather than a theme. The same products, prices and policies are presented in a form built to be consumed by software, so what decides whether it works is the quality of the underlying data rather than anything about the design.

On some platforms it is active by default for eligible stores, which means a merchant can be taking agent traffic without having opted into anything, and failing at it without any signal that a channel exists.

Why it matters to a store

A default-on channel changes the question from whether to participate to whether the participation is going well. A store can be fully present on the surface and lose every comparison it enters, because presence is decided by the platform and competitiveness is decided by what you published.
